Allergy & Asthma Care Information - allergies, asthma, and pregnancy
Uncontrolled asthma may present a greater risk to the fetus and mother than any currently available asthma medication. As such, moderate to severe asthma is often treated in similar fashion for pregnant vs. non-pregnant women. Nasal, eye, throat, and skin allergy symptoms can generally be managed safely and effectively when allergen avoidance strategies are combined with appropriate medications. Since no medication is known to be 100% safe in pregnancy, our goal is always to provide allergy and asthma control in the safest manner using the lowest doses of appropriate medications.
